The Holiday Village’s restaurant is open daily from 1.5-31.8 and by arrangement at other times.

Local food from North Karelia

Lunch is served daily from mid-June until the 15th of August. Home-cooked food is served for lunch, and fish lovers especially will enjoy our wide range of fish dishes. Our restaurant favours locally sourced food, and the fish we serve is processed by our other company, Laukkasen Kala. From Midsummer until the end of August, our restaurant serves lakeshore fish, blazed salmon, and pit-roasted meat known as Rosvopaisti, “robber’s roast” weekly.

The restaurant has a capacity of 90, with 200 seats out on the covered terrace. It is possible to book the facilities for private functions, such as weddings, birthdays, or corporate events. A catering services is also available during the off-season.

On summer evenings, guests can enjoy live music on the terrace, and on lakeshore fish evenings, entertainment continues until late with a DJ/karaoke on the terrace. In the restaurant, you can also challenge your friends to a game of pool, or check out what the library has to offer.

The area has a charging station (2*22kW) for electric vehicles, and charging works with the Evenli app. The restaurant also accepts lunch vouchers, Smartum and ePassi as payment methods.

- Vendace and salmon soup on the terrace €16.50/person
- Karaoke in July 7:30 PM – 10:30PM

Tuesdays bingo on the terrace at 5:00 PM

- Bingo will be played from June 23th to August 4th, 2026

Wednesdays flame salmon evening starting at 5:00 PM

- We flame salmon on the beach grill shelter, first table setting ready at 6:00 PM
- Orders in advance at reception, €42/kg

Thursdays bandit roast available at 7:00 PM

- Pork and lamb with side dishes
- Pre-registration no later than the previous Tuesday at 11:00 AM

Welcome to celebrate Midsummer in atmospheric lake scenery!

On Midsummer Eve, Friday 19 June 2026, the bonfire will be lit at 18:00, weather permitting. The evening continues with music, as Selmers performs on the terrace from around 20:30.

Puruvesi Salmon King 2026 – 27–28 June 2026

The legendary Puruvesi Salmon King competition will take place again on 27–28 June 2026! First held in 1983, the competition brings fishing enthusiasts together for the 42nd time for a traditional rowing trolling competition.

The starting points are Ruokkeen Lomakylä, which also serves as the competition centre, and Mäntyranta Camping. Registration is now open – join us for one of the most anticipated events of the summer!

On Saturday evening, the atmosphere continues at the Ruokkee competition dance, featuring Telemark Kollektiivi.

Ruokkeen Lomakylä is organizing a bus trip to the Superpesis match in Kitee on Sunday, July 12, 2026!
The bus will depart from the holiday village at approximately 3:45 PM. You can also join the ride from Pivanka at approximately 4:00 PM.
The match starts at 5:00 PM, and the return bus will leave after the game ends.

Puruvesi Autumn Trolling, 5–6 September 2026

Puruvesi Autumn Trolling once again brings fishing enthusiasts together to enjoy the autumn competition atmosphere in beautiful lake scenery. The event takes place on Lake Puruvesi, with Ruokkeen Lomakylä serving as the competition centre.

The competition is organised by Karjalan Kalamiehet ry, and the event offers a great opportunity to test your skills and spend time with like-minded anglers.
