Ruoke Holiday Village offers a variety of opportunities for active holidays in the middle of nature. There is plenty to do in the area for all ages, and the days are easily filled with exercise, outdoor activities and social activities. You can use, among other things, paddle, badminton and beach volleyball courts, a frisbee golf course, miniature golf and a ping pong table – there are plenty of options for both a more relaxed pastime and a more active one.
For exercise lovers, the area’s fitness trail offers a comfortable setting for jogging and outdoor activities, and you can explore the beautiful landscapes of the surrounding area at your own pace with a rental bicycle. On summer evenings, the atmosphere continues on the restaurant’s dance floor, where you can enjoy music and dancing in good company. For golf enthusiasts, the nearest golf course is located in Kerimäki, about 60 kilometers away, and it offers additional opportunities for an active holiday.
For fishing lovers, Ruoke Holiday Village is an excellent destination. The clear waters of Puruvesi attract both experienced fishermen and beginners. You can easily get everything you need for a fishing trip from us – boats, equipment and fishing permits are easily taken care of on site, so you can focus on enjoying the experience.

Puruvesi Salmon King 2026 – 27–28 June 2026
The legendary Puruvesi Salmon King competition will take place again on 27–28 June 2026! First held in 1983, the competition brings fishing enthusiasts together for the 42nd time for a traditional rowing trolling competition.
The starting points are Ruokkeen Lomakylä, which also serves as the competition centre, and Mäntyranta Camping. Registration is now open – join us for one of the most anticipated events of the summer!
On Saturday evening, the atmosphere continues at the Ruokkee competition dance, featuring Telemark Kollektiivi.

Puruvesi Autumn Trolling, 5–6 September 2026
Puruvesi Autumn Trolling once again brings fishing enthusiasts together to enjoy the autumn competition atmosphere in beautiful lake scenery. The event takes place on Lake Puruvesi, with Ruokkeen Lomakylä serving as the competition centre.
The competition is organised by Karjalan Kalamiehet ry, and the event offers a great opportunity to test your skills and spend time with like-minded anglers.

Puruvesi Salmonid Stocking Event, 31 Oct–1 Nov 2026
Puruvesi Salmonid Stocking Gathering brings together friends of fishing and water conservation for an autumn event. During the weekend, you can learn more about fish stocking activities and take part in important work to support fish populations.
